Takeji Hashimoto, Japan Atomic Energy Research Agency, Japan
After receiving Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts (1971), Hashimoto had been a professor in Department of Polymer Chemistry, Kyoto University, Japan from 1971 to 2005, jointly appointed as a director of the Hashimoto Polymer Phasing Project, ERATO, JST (1993 – 1998) and as a group leader for the Neutron Scattering and Soft Matters Project, Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC), Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), Tokai (2003 – 2005). Since his retirement at Kyoto Univ., he has been Prof. Emeritus Kyoto Univ. and a researcher at ASRC, JAEA, Tokai. His awards include The Soc. Polymer Sci. Jpn. Award (1986), The High Polymer Phys. Award (Ford Prize) from the American Phys. Soc. (1987), Chancellor’s Medal (1970) and Fraser Price Memorial Award (1997) from Univ. Massachusetts, The Chemical Soc. Japan Award (2003), Japanese Soc. of Neutron Science Award (2004).
