Profile
Axel Müller, Universität Bayreuth, Germany
Axel Müller obtained his Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry in 1977 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, working on the kinetics and mechanisms of anionic polymerization with G.V. Schulz. Since 1999 he is professor and chair of Macromolecular Chemistry at the University of Bayreuth. He was Visiting Professor in Shanghai, Paris, Montreal, Kyoto, Sydney, and Gliwice. In 2004 he received the IUPAC MACRO Distinguished Polymer Scientist Award. His research interest focuses on the design of well-defined polymer structures by living polymerization techniques. These structures include block and graft copolymers, branched topologies, organic and hybrid nanoparticles. He is Senior Editor of Polymer.
